What We Believe

We believe that ONE Holy God exists in THREE persons, the Father, the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that all mankind is sinful, and on their own cannot hope to ever be in in Heaven with Holy God. Thus, man’s greatest need is a Savior, and God in His love and mercy, gave us the gift of eternal through the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23)

We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth as God incarnate. He lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death on the cross, and rose again the third day – all according to what was foretold in the Old Testament Scriptures!

We believe that the only way a man or woman can be saved is to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her Savior. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone, to the glory of God alone!

We believe that “…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

We believe that every word of the word of God (the Bible) was given by inspiration of God, and was divinely preserved throughout the centuries and millennia (II Tim. 3:16, Psalms 12:6-7). We believe we can find the preserved words of God in the King James Version of the Bible. Thus, it is the only version that we will use in our church ministries.

We believe that the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus still applies, and that we as Christians are commanded to go “…into all the world and preach the gospel…”. (Mark 16:15)

We believe that the church exists to glorify God, to preach the Gospel, and to build up and equip Christians to do the same in their lives and families.

Statement of Faith

THE SCRIPTURES

The scriptures are the inspired and preserved work of God and as such will be the final authority in matters of faith and practice. II Timothy 3:16, 17, II Peter 1:21, Psalms 12:6, 7, Psalms 138:2

THE GODHEAD

There is one God, all-together Holy and Perfect. He is existent in the persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 5:36, 14:26

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is God's only Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit in the virgin, Mary. He is very God and very man. His earthly life was perfect, exemplary and directed toward his vicarious and atoning death on the cross. After three days his resurrection was real and bodily, after which He was glorified in returning to the right hand of God, the Father, where He is our Intercessor.  He will return to claim his Kingdom.  Luke 1:27-33, Phil. 2:5-8, I Peter 2:22, I Cor. 15:3,4 , Acts 1:9-11, Heb. 7:25, Luke 19:10, John 3:16-18

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is one of multiple purpose. He works to draw men to Christ through conviction and persuasion. He baptizes believers into the body of Christ at the time of repentance and acceptance of Christ as their Savior. He indwells, empowers, and fortifies the believer in accordance with the believer’s willingness to allow and be open to his ministry. He seals the believer, making them eternally secure in Christ. Eph. 4:30, John 3:16, Gal. 3:26, 1 John 5:12-13, Eph. 5:30, 1 Cor. 6:19, 20

The Holy Spirit bestows Spiritual Gifts on us in accordance with his sovereign will.  These gifts are for the edification of Christ's body, the Church. (Ephesians 4:7-13)

The Holy Spirit is Christ's representative to man just as Christ is man's representative to God. John 3:8, I Cor 12:4-11, John 16:7-14

MANKIND

Man was created in the spiritual image of God, but through willful disobedience man fell into sin and became subject to physical death and spiritual separation from God.  Restoration is possible only if a personal acceptance of Christ as Savior and Lord comes about in the life of a person.  After conversion, the believer ought to follow diligently the guides for life set out in the Scripture, so as to live a life pleasing to Christ.  Gen. 1-3 Rom. 3:23, 5:12, Eph. 2:1-3,12

THE CHURCH

The Church Universal, which is the body of Christ, is made up of all who claim Christ as the Savior and Lord of their life. Believers are encouraged by Scripture to join together with others of like faith and persuasion for the carrying out of the tasks of the Church and for the fellowship of the saints. (see Article 1.)  Eph 1:22,23 5:25-27, I Cor. 12:12-14, II Cor. 11:2, Heb 10:25, Acts 2:41,42

THE RETURN OF CHRIST

The future of mankind is shown to us in the Scriptures. They tell us of Christ's return, the resurrection of believers to reward and non-believers to eternal punishment. Christ's earthly reign is shown as well as the eternal state of believers and non-believers.  Rev 20:10, I Thess. 4:13-18, 1:9,10, John 5:28, 29

CHURCH ORDINANCES

The Ordinances of the Church are Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is commanded of Christ to every believer as a symbolic death, burial, and resurrection into a new life with Christ. Baptism is meant for understanding Christians only, who use this event to demonstrate their willingness and desire to follow Christ. The Lord's Supper is a commemoration of the death of Jesus Christ on the Cross for all mankind. Its elements have no spiritual value in and of themselves and are meant only to recall to our minds Christ's words and death for us. Romans 6:1-6, I Cor. 11:23-29
